The Beauty of the Aogashima island in the Volcanic Caldera

Aogashima is part of the Izu Islands, located two hundred miles south of Tokyo, in the Philippine Sea. Aogashima actually a volcano within a volcano. The island is well known for having a large caldera volcanic caldera. So that there is a very large giant crater, which is the island itself, in which there is a small version of it.

For starters, Aogashima is a great place to rest and relax, feel all the peace that we can get. Scuba diving is a popular activity in the waters so blue colored it. You can also choose to go hiking and camping on the volcano, or visit the volcanic hot springs. In the middle of the island is the geothermal steam. The main volcano has a boiling hot steam vents in the side, which is used to power the public sauna - a perfect way to relax after you have exhausted air- hiking all day. You can even cook food in steam vents, in the cauldron that is available outside of the sauna to steam your food.

Accessibility going to and returning from the island was not too good, because the island is only reachable by boat ferry and helicopter. Once you are on the island, you have access 24/7 directly from the port, so you can keep an eye on the weather before deciding to go or a walk somewhere. If you plan to visit Aogashima, you probably should first know that Aogashima is actually an active volcano. The last major eruption occurred more than 200 years ago, i.e. in 1785. A total of 140 people were killed at that time, and since the eruption last long enough.
